Hello! My name is Adriana Ramirez.
I am a senior majoring in Advertising at Loyola University of Chicago. Currently residing in Chicago, IL., I am also a barista and make time to indulge in my interests in between.
Initially, I began my college experience as a business major, making the common mistake of choosing marketing as a means for creative exposure in the business field. But, like many others who have also made the switch, I learned the hard way (math is hard, okay?) that if you have been a creative person your whole life, to not sell yourself short, especially in your lifelong career. Through numerous statistics and accounting courses (an artists’ worst nightmare), I decided that if the creative process of a project was my passion, then I should fully immerse myself in that world.
I’ve always been a lover of the arts. I enjoy graphic design, video editing, drawing, designing, performance, nature, and dabble in the art of photography and writing. I still appreciate the marketing skills I learned and plan to use them in digital marketing and advertising occupations.
I was a part of the journalism summer program at DePaul University, Pasos al Futuro, where I worked with a team to travel, interview, and write a piece on the immigration process for Chicagoans during the presidential election. I was also part of the production team for the film, Alternate Universe, where I collaborated with a team of both students and professionals.
I’m also a lover of the art of healthy food, that is, healthy for the body and the planet! My environmentalism interests are what motivated me to start a food Instagram, @evermorsels, where I promote healthy lifestyles and sustainable practices.
I practice graphic design on Canva, and I am a beginner in Adobe photoshop as of now. I practice writing on my food page, as well as journaling everyday for myself. Currently, I am working on a business plan for a sustainable clothing company I will launch, as well as launching my own YouTube channel to further document my wellness journey to others.
